Judah was born in January 2020 and surprised us with his presence two weeks early. He entered the world and hopped right into a wild ride over his first year of life. He ended up spending some time in the NICU while Sydney was also recovering from some of her own health difficulties after giving birth. After being released from the hospital to go home, the journey was actually just beginning as we faced the pandemic and Josh's health concerns. The beauty of the pandemic meant that we had some time at home to work on putting together some unique custom pieces of furniture and décor for Judah's room. It also meant that we got to spend more time together as a family and supporting one another

This is a Kling dresser that we purchased in Lynchburg, VA, a few years ago. Due to a lot of change in our personal lives (starting new jobs, moving to North Carolina), we just now got around to refinishing this beautiful piece. This dresser is one that brings up the adage, "they don't make them like they used to." The dresser is solid cherry, making it extremely durable and a piece that can be handed down from generation to generation. 

This is a dresser that we found in Charlottesville, Virginia. We wanted to try a new paint color called Cast Iron by Sherwin Williams, and this dresser was perfect for the test. We absolutely love how the paint and stain compliment each other on this piece. There are more pictures of the finished product at the bottom of this page. 

This was a project dresser from Amherst, Virginia, that we could not pass up. We've always loved Tiger Oak pieces. So when they come available, we try to jump on them. We hope that you enjoy reading our blog. There are more finished pictures at the bottom.

This was an empire style dresser that we found in North Carolina. It needed a lot of work, but we knew that it had some really good bones to work with. We decided to go with a darker paint color to contrast with the beautiful Birdseye maple on the drawers. More finished pictures are at the bottom of this blog! 

We have wanted to try to produce a gold-dipped piece of furniture for a while, and this French provincial dresser was the perfect fit. Gold dipping is the perfect way to create a classy look for any room in your house. (Note: more finished pictures can be found at the end of the post).

This was one of those projects where we took a chance on a piece, not knowing what we would find underneath the painted surface. We believe this piece dates back to the late 1800s or early 1900s. It features unique pin and cove drawer dovetails and beautiful tiger oak. (Note: More finished pictures are at the bottom of the blog).

This is a China cabinet that a friend of ours from Lynchburg, VA found for us. It was in need of some major love, but we saw a lot of potential with its French provincial style.  It took a ton of work, but we love the way this came out.  Plus, we were able to incorporate designer wallpaper into the project, which really brought the piece to another level! We apologize, the phone that we took the before pictures with stopped working on us, so we lost those pictures.  (Note: more finished pictures are at the end of the blog).

A really cool couple gave us an opportunity to work on this amazing dresser!  Mixing stains gives you the opportunity to create the perfect color and design for your space. Even though we have tried this particular stain mixture on a couple different projects, we feel like the result has been a little bit different every time.  Making each piece truly unique.  ​
